How she practises

Most people arrive at Halt having already been somewhere else. They have been told their labs are normal, or that the tiredness is stress, or that the weight is a willpower problem. They have usually seen two or three clinicians and left each appointment with less than they walked in with.

Dr. Bansal's approach starts from the opposite end. Before a first visit she reads every result a patient has already had — not just the most recent, but the trajectory, because the direction a marker has been moving is often more informative than where it sits today. Then she spends forty-five minutes on the history, because the pattern of symptoms is data too.

The aim is not to reassure. It is to explain: what she thinks is happening, why she thinks it, what she wants to test next, and what she proposes to do about it — in language the patient can repeat to someone else afterwards. Every patient leaves a first visit with that written down.

She will also tell people when nothing is wrong with their endocrine system, or when the right clinician is someone else. That is not a formality. It is the reason the rest of it can be trusted.

Currently active. Use of the GLP-1/GIP agonist tirzepatide to treat insulin resistance in congenital generalised lipodystrophy. IRB approved, Rutgers RWJMS, 2025.

Clinical & Research Fellow, NIDDK/NICHD, National Institutes of Health (2018–2021). Associate Investigator on the Physical and Behavioral Traits of Overweight and Obese Adults study, and Co-Investigator on a long-term natural-history protocol in hyperparathyroidism and MEN1 syndrome.

Visits are by video, anywhere in New York or New Jersey, and are usually available the same week. There is no referral requirement. A first visit is $449 for forty-five minutes and is refunded in full if you go on to start Ongoing Care within thirty days.
